The Agape Empowerment Center aspires to produce a great generation of Christ-led Liberian leaders equipped to positively change their country and world.
2014
Pastor Jackson Jaylah files paperwork in the United States for the Agape Care Mission.
2015
Chong and Dave Schwartz get introduced to Austina Forkpa, originally from Liberia, and her children, Serena and Zachary. The Forkpas and their now expanded family of seven quickly became a part of the Schwartz family and put Liberia on Chong and Dave’s heart.
2016
Pastor Jackson visits Liberia and with the help of family and a few friends, purchases land in Mount Barclay for the current orphanage and school.
2022
Jackson Jaylah and Dave Schwartz are introduced, and shortly thereafter, he, Chong and others visit the Agape Care Mission and see many of the challenges the existing facility and organization have. Arriving back in the United States, they visit with Pastor Jackson about the possibility of reimagining the plan and creating a God-sized vision - the Agape Empowerment Center.
2023
Over 20 architects from Shive-Hattery gather with the Agape team to vision the project. Several weeks later the renderings for the project are completed.
Met with Liberian President-elect Joseph Boakai to discuss plans for the Agape Empowerment Center. His reaction said it all, "WE NEED THIS"!
2024
Secured funding to revitalize our existing campus in Mount Barclay. This project will include improvements to the existing school, orphanage and parsonage as well as the building of a new community center.
Through the visionary leadership of Senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence and the generosity of the leaders of Grand Bassa County we were gifted 20+ acres of land for our country-changing campus with the potential of receiving 100 acres more for agricultural purposes.
